My name is Natalia Brazkowski. I am 16 years old. I have a 12 year old brother, Marcel. Three years ago our dad had a red rash appear on his upper, left thigh, followed by excruciating pain in the same area. Since then he hasn’t been able to go back to work. His life changed drastically along with mine and my family.
He began to go to many doctors but they all diagnosed him with the wrong illness. He had not one, but two unnecessary surgical procedures done. No one could find out what was wrong with him. He was told the pain would go away, but it never did.
Finally, we found a doctor that would try to help us. He looked through our dad’s medical history and came to the conclusion a specific blood test should be done. The test confirmed that he has chronic Lyme disease which is a tick-born illness caused by a bacteria. He is taking antibiotics for 5 months now but they are not helping.
It hurts us so much to see him not being able to do things with us and live normally. You might not be used to seeing your dad cry but we see him break down crying almost everyday. Living a life knowing you’re not able to support your family and thinking you will never be able to live free of pain is hard.
That is why me and my brother are begging for your help. The only way for our dad to be cured is to try various treatment therapies at a professional clinic that treats Lyme disease. Because Lyme disease is so misunderstood, insurance companies refuse to cover all the appropriate treatments. The cost of our dad’s treatments will be around 75,000. That includes traveling fees, hospitalization, all therapies and medication. Our family doesn't have that kind of money.
Any financial donation is appreciated. There is no such thing as a small donation. Even if you donate $1, you would be helping tremendously. Sharing this with others and spreading the word would also help a lot and we would appreciate it. We would like to thank our friends for such great support and help and thank everyone that has donated. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please help us.
