Jerry & Susan Sledge- Valley Fire
This page was set up to help our parents, Jerry and Susan Sledge. Like so many in their community, they are victims of last week's Valley Fire. For those that know them, you already know they're the type that would never ask for help. But we, and so many of their friends and family, have been searching for a way to make this time a little easier for them.
The fast moving wildfire devastated so much of Lake County, taking hundreds of houses in its path. Jerry, Susan, and her brother Mark made it out safely, but their beautiful home in Hidden Valley Lake was a complete loss. The speed of this fire was like nothing seen before, and notice to evacuate wasn't given until flames had surrounded the neighborhood. There was no time to pack treasured momentos, photos or valuables. It was a horrific experience that will likely stick with them.
But even after all that, they feel blessed. They are grateful to have made it out with their lives, the clothes on their back, a car, their dog, and one of their cats. They have each other, generous friends sharing a home with them, and so many supportive messages from friends and family.
So this is where we all come in. They will need that love and support to continue as they rebuild their lives. They will need local eyes searching for their beloved Lily cat who jumped out of Susan's car during the evacuation. And they will need help replacing the house, Jerry's truck, clothing, furniture, food, household items, Jerry's work tools, and so much more.
We thank you for loving our parents and helping in any way you can. Contributions to this account will go straight to Jerry and Susan as they get started on this next chapter, and any amount is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
Sincerely,
Justin & Jessica Sledge
