Jerry's Road to Stroke Recovery
Donation protected
Please help Jerry Ryan recover from a stroke he had on 3/2/2020. He suffered a blood clot stroke to the left side of his brain which has made speech difficult and moving his right side almost impossible.
Jerry Ryan is one of the best, most genuine people I know, from a loved father and grandfather to an extremely hard worker as a custodian at Wittenberg University. He has had many hard years over his life from being homeless for several years to having heart bypass surgery last year. This is his second stroke and the doctors believe the best place for him is in an in-patient rehabilitation center. They believe with the proper care, he could regain much of his abilities and become more independent again.
We also believe that he should be surrounded by those who love him most which is why we are moving him from Ohio to Oregon with his son and family until he recovers. We will be helping him move asap and need funds to cover airplane tickets for him and us, moving costs, cost of aides to help him regain his independence, cost of the rehabilitation center, and medical bills from the Ohio hospital. The rehabilitation center alone is over 10,000 per month. We hope if we can relieve this burden of finance from Jerry, he can focus solely on recovering and get back to doing what he loves most.
Much of these costs we will not be able to cover out of our pocket so we are reaching out to our friends and family for help to aid Jerry in his recovery. We want to make sure he receives the best care so he can go on to live a full and happy life.
