On May 1, 2018, Jerry was the victim of a horrific act of violence. The perpetrator viciously beat him and then ran over his body with his car, leaving him for dead. Jerry's injuries were numerous and included having all his ribs broken, his pelvis crushed, his shoulder broken, and has been left in a coma and dependent on a ventilator to breathe.
But let me talk about Jerry. Jerry is a reporter, a writer, a first aid volunteer, a dedicated worker, a wonderful friend, and a devoted family man with a loving fiance. Jerry loves cats and captures many special pictures of his precious Misu. Jerry spent his life dedicated to helping others and has touched so many lives as a volunteer for the Freehold First Aid Squad, a reporter for the Asbury Park Press and The News Transcript, a driver for SAS Ambulance, and so much more. He is kind-hearted and highly devoted to his family and friends. He is kind-hearted, has a great sense of humor, and is always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
We are extremely grateful for the huge outpouring of love and support from family and friends. Many people have been asking how they can help. Our goal for this campaign is to help cover some of the incurring costs of Jerry's medical and legal expenses and other expenses that are quickly incurring.
To this very day, Jerry remains in a persistent vegetative state. The essence that was uniquely Jerry Wolkowitz has been ripped away from his friends, family, co-workers, and his beloved Peggy. We ask that you stand together with us in order to help Jerry and also to show solidarity for supporting love and not hate.
Please consider helping us to help Jerry, and keep Jerry in your thoughts and prayers. If you feel it is Ok, please share this page on social media.
God Bless All!
RIP my dearest gentle soul, my better half, my twin brother.
