Jerry Lawson's Medical bills for GBS!

Donation protected
Hi everyone. My name is Paul McRae, and I consider myself luck enough to be a friend of Jerry Lawson. Those that know Jerry know that he is one tough guy who always prided himself on making people suffer on the race course. Jerry trained harder than anyone back in the day and had great success in the marathon holding the American record of 2:09:35 for a long time.

In recent years Jerry was still running and is always making a running comeback. Unfortunately, he has had a recent stroke of bad luck. What initially he thought was a pulled back and hamstring quickly progressed to Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). GBS is a rare condition in which a person's immune system attacks the peripheral nerves. People of all ages can be affected, but it is more common in adults and in males. Most people recover fully but it takes a lot of rehab and time to do so. Jerry has lost the ability to not only walk but even to do most things without assistance from others.

Since Jerry has spent 2 weeks at Baptist Hospital and as of 03/07 will be move to Brooks Rehab in-patient to begin learning how to walk again. As you can imagine with the hospital stay, in-patient rehab, and not being able to work until he is closer to 100% financially this will be tough on him and his family.

So I'm asking that you consider donating what you can so we can get Jerry (and his family) back on his feet without struggling to make ends meet. Please feel free to share with family and friends. The money raised will go directly to Jerry and his family!
