Many of you know that Jerry Kelley recently joined our FrogBones Family to create and operate the FrogBones armory. We are still processing the news; but we felt it was important to share with you that Jerry has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.
His diagnosis came on suddenly after a tweaked back ignited pain that crept down his leg. He decided to get an MRI which revealed a large tumor in his back. The result of his biopsy was stage 4 lung cancer which has spread to other vital organs in his body.
Jerry stepped away from the armory two months ago to focus on his health, family, and the fight that lies ahead of him. His presence, energy, and positivity have been severely missed. If you have ever met Jerry you know that he is not only a master at his craft but he is kind, warm and a joy to be around. For 30 years he has poured his heart and soul into gunsmithing. Whether he is performing a basic cleaning or working on the restoration of a 200 year old firearm, he applies the same diligence and care for every single customer. The combination of his unique skill sets, industry knowledge, and wonderful personality have been the cornerstone to his success. We are honored to have him as a part of the Frogbones Family.
Not only has Jerry had to step away from one of his passions in life that he happens to call work, but his wonderful wife has had to cut back as well to be by his side during this time. Cancer is not a forgiving diagnosis. It takes a toll on people and their families financially, emotionally, and physically. We are calling on our community to assist us in lifting up Jerry and his family to strengthen them as they endure the challenges and uncertainty that lie ahead.
