My dad, Jerry Ferreira, suddenly lost consciousness on Christmas Eve and was placed on life support.  On Christmas Day, we received the heartbreaking news that he had suffered a large brain bleed that was not survivable and inoperable.  The doctors suspected that he was brain dead and confirmed with testing later that night.  On December 26, we made the difficult decision to remove him from life support.  He passed peacefully and quickly.  We are now in the terrible position of having to plan a funeral after this devastatingly sudden loss.  

Jerry was an amazing musician who taught himself how to play the drums in the 60s and continued playing until his passing.  He and my Uncle Doc, an equally amazing guitarist, would play gigs together and jam as often as they could.  They were inseparable.  Rock music was my dad's life.  Every Christmas, the family would gather to celebrate and always end up jamming at the end of the night.  

The only thing more important to my dad than music was his family.  He happily served as caretaker for both of his parents and his aunts.

As his only daughter, any help with funeral costs would greatly ease the financial burden of having to deal with the tragic loss of my father on Christmas.  I would be forever grateful.
