Help Jerry "Coach" Gillingham Beat Cancer

Donation protected

Hi,

My name is Ross Gillingham and I am fundraising for my father, Jerry "Coach" Gillingham.

Jerry was a high school science teacher and coach of over 35 years. In April 2021, Jerry was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma and is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments. These treatments consist of a series of spinal and IV chemo therapy with days of follow-up injections. Jerry is doing his best and fighting hard.

Due to Medicare only covering 80% of his treatment costs, Jerry's current medical bills are over $30,000.

Jerry is currently being cared for by his wife Janice, who was left disabled after being struck by a drunk driver in 1997. We're hoping to raise $10,000 to help cover the first third of the medical bills so Jerry and Janice can focus on healing instead of worrying about medical debt.

Jerry graduated from UW Platteville in 1966 and began his teaching career in Menomonee Falls, WI. In 1970, Jerry was drafted into the Vietnam War and came into contact with the chemical Agent Orange. This caused his current illness.

Upon his return from Vietnam, Jerry continued right where he left off, helping students as a mentor and coach. Jerry was a dedicated coach and always loved teaching, as he tells it "I always loved walking into the classroom to see the students! There was never a day I didn't love teaching."

After years of helping his students, Coach Gillingham now needs your help!

We are thankful for any and all donations or words of encouragement for Jerry. He's got a tough row to hoe and we're hoping you can help!
