This fundraiser is to help two very special and selfless people. This is what Jerry had to say,

"Thirty-seven years ago I met a beautiful Christian lady at a Parents without Partners Christian group. She had two young sons, ages eight and nine. We now have been married for thirty-five years. We have had many good times, trying times, and emotionally challenging times. Our love has endured and is stronger today and will be tomorrow God willing.
We just found out that my dear wife, Sheila, has lung cancer which was a total surprise and totally unexpected. We are both still in shock and going through the emotions, endless appointments, and the stress of preparations for what lies ahead dealing with chemotherapy.
She has never smoked and typically takes great precautions with her health since her original diagnosis of Juvenile Diabetes after turning seventeen. She has dealt with Type 1 Diabetes for fifty-one years through many trials and tribulations. Her doctor is concerned due to the location of the cancer which is near her heart. Due to her diabetes the two tumors will be removed robotically after the 4th chemotherapy treatment for the best outcome.
As if this isn't enough the cost is astronomical with Medicare covering 80% and the rest being left to us. Even though I was working before we moved back to Texas this last August as the Facility Manager of our church back in Albuquerque, I haven't been able to even get an interview for a position here and it certainly hasn't been for a lack of trying.
I have now concluded that God has a different plan for my life and for us. I truly believe that God hasn't opened that door due to the fact I need and want to be here for the love of my life with all the upcoming appointments and treatments. Sheila has been told she will lose all her hair and when that happens I will too. I will have my head shaved in solidarity for her and we will continue our journey.
We both need your prayers and if you feel led to donate to our current journey for health and life like the countless others before and after us. We appreciate and sincerely thank you. May God bless and keep you."

If you can help or feel the desire to donate I know this wonderful and loving couple could use the help. They have touched so many lives and deserve our continued prayers and support during this time of need. Thank you all! God Bless
