My name is Brett Lanier and I'm setting this up for my mother. She's been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar and has been going on for 14 years.
I hope this message finds you all in good health and spirits. I am writing to you with great concern for my mother, who we know has been struggling with significant mental health issues. I humbly request your support and financial assistance to help her with bills and hopefully receive the necessary treatment and care she desperately needs.
Over the past few years, my mother's mental health has deteriorated, affecting her daily life, relationships, and overall well-being. Unfortunately, with mental health treatment, including therapy sessions, medication, and specialized care, she thinks nothing is wrong. Even worse is we can't force her to get or seek help, unless she poses a danger to herself or those around her. It's easy for us to assume "well why doesn't she just get help". If it was that simple I wouldn't be typing this.
I firmly believe that with the right resources and professional help, my mother can regain her mental stability and lead a fulfilling life once again. I pray that that day comes sooner than later and hopefully at all. However, due to me and my brother's limited financial means, we are unable to bear the costs alone. I've paid my mothers bills for quite some time, and this past year I've asked my brother to step up and help as well. But it's still a heavy burden.
The last 14 years dealing with this has been troubling. My father who no longer has his wife and has cost him a tremendous amount financially as well unbelievable sadness on his heart, mind, and well being. My siblings Blake and Brook, who when this started didn't comprehend what was happening for they were young. I remember taking Brook to work because she was scared. I know mom so much differently than my siblings, I know her as my mom who taught me so many things that she was unable to do for them in their later part of adolescence. As time has gone on we've taken it for granted hoping she would realize and seek help and this would all go away. It hasn't. And has brought me so many tears.
I kindly request your consideration in providing financial assistance to help cover my mother's bills. Anything will help, preferably something consistent every month would be best. Your contribution, no matter the amount, would make a significant difference and hopefully when she sees everyone's contribution, it will open her eyes to her illness and help in her journey towards recovery.
If you require any additional information or would like to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for your time, understanding, and support during this challenging period that has gone on since 2009. Your generosity will not only benefit my mother but also bring hope and relief to our entire family. I sincerely appreciate your consideration and await your favorable response.
Proverbs 19:17, James 2:15-16
With heartfelt gratitude,
Brett Lanier
