Hi. My name is Jerri Quinn. I had been a Southern California girl for about 20 years. In March of 2024, I found out that I have a rare blood cancer. Summer 2024, I went through a nasty break-up with my partner, Carole that had turned into a nasty narcissist and tried to separate me from my family. Most of my belongings went into a storage unit in La Quinta, CA. I took my service dog Willow and moved back to NC to be with my family so they can help care for me when I'm sick.

When I had to leave my home in So-Cal, I had to also let my beautiful and thriving Reiki business go that I had opened back in 2013. I also had to leave some really good friends behind. Not only did my business suffer, I had to spend money out on medical expenses while waiting for new insurance to get started in NC.

The rental on the storage unit has continued to increase to where I have paid the last month I can pay on it. My credit cards are now maxed out just from trying to live and pay those increasing storage fees.

I hired a moving company this month to transport my belongings from La Quinta, CA to Richlands, NC. Their price started out at a reasonable $2900. Then they went up to $18,000 on the day they arrived for pick up. No way could I cover that. So what happened was they brought it down to $7,800. However, they was only able to bring about 2/3 of my belongs for that price.

The rest of my belongings are still in that storage unit and I have to have them out by June 17th because there's no more money left to keep paying it. Due to my health, I was forced to take early retirement in NC.

Now I am renting a 12 foot U-Haul that will be hooked to a pick up truck. I have secured a driver that will drive cross country, pulling the U-Haul, collect my belongings and drive them back across the country to NC.

My family and I are tapped out with everything. I am reaching out to friends and communities to ask for help to get the rest of my belongings home.

I need money for the U-Haul ($422). Gas for 4,982 miles, round trip ($800). Food ($200). I'm not asking for hotel expense because the driver is going to take naps in the truck as needed. This adds up to $1422.

I'm asking for everyone to please rally together and donate what you can. Every little bit helps. Even if you can only spare $1, know that those 1 dollars do add up collectively.
