On Monday, June 24th, Marcel was rushed to University Medical Center in Lubbock, after being diagnosed with a large tumor on his brain. The doctors and surgeons felt the need to act quickly and he had an 8 hour surgery to remove the tumor the next day. Now that the surgery is over, Marcel faces a long recovery. As of now, he has not regained all of his cognitive abilities and will likely need months or years to recover. But through this all, he has been strong. He still isn’t out of the woods and can use all of the prayers and good thoughts he can get! Marcel’s dad, Jerome, is a single father to Marcel and his older brother and sole breadwinner for his boys. Anyone who knows Jerome knows those boys are his world. This is putting an overwhelming financial burden on their family and Jerome is currently juggling time between Lubbock and Midland just to keep the income going. These guys need help to ease some of the financial burden of day to day expenses and future medical expenses. Through all of this Jerome has been reluctant to ask for help, but the cost of living in Midland is pretty high these days and his priority needs to be with his boys. Anything helps. Thank you!
