Just before 7:00 AM, Wednesday, January 21, on his way to work, Jeremy and his family’s life changed in an instant. Without warning, he suffered a catastrophic brain aneurysm that caused him to lose consciousness while driving, leading to a three car accident. He was airlifted to Baltimore Shock Trauma, arriving intubated and in critical condition. A shunt was immediately placed in Jeremy’s brain to relieve the pressure and save his life. During surgery, he suffered a second aneurysm. Because the medical team was already operating, they were able to clip and coil it on the spot again saving his life.
Jeremy remains in a coma, but his strength and determination are evident as his body continues to fight through this unimaginable trauma.
Anyone who knows Jeremy knows this doesn’t make sense. He’s the life of the party, a friend to everyone, a coach and cheer dad, and the loudest supporter of his kids. He’s their biggest fan in every room, every game, every moment. He is a husband, a son, a brother.
Jeremy is the sole provider for his family and had just started a new job one week ago. Cathy is a stay-at-home mom caring for their four children and navigating life hour to hour. The hospital is more than two hours from home and as weather worsens she will need to remain nearby. They will be facing mounting medical, travel, and lodging expenses.
Right now the road ahead is long and filled with much uncertainty. What we can do is help ease the financial burden so Cathy’s focus can be on her children and Jeremy’s recovery.
Please help if you are able. Give what you can, share if you can’t, and keep Jeremy in your prayers.
Your support will help a husband heal, a father fight, and a family hold on to hope.
