On July 14, what was supposed to be a simple spinal cord stimulator revision surgery turned into a life changing event for our family. During surgery, Jeremy suffered a spinal cord injury. He has spent over a week in ICU and PCU (progressive care unit), facing the unimaginable: partial loss of movement and feeling from the waist down.

Jeremy is now working with physical and occupational therapists every day - standing with assistance, even some steps now, relearning how to engage his muscles and pushing through pain and fatigue. His prognosis is uncertain but doctors say recovery will take months. We are now looking into getting him into an acute inpatient out of state rehabilitation center that specializes in spinal rehab.

While we remain hopeful and grateful for every small victory (like the day he stood for 30 seconds for the first time, or the day his strength returned enough to sit upright in a chair for 4 hours), the reality is that this journey is going to be long, expensive and emotionally challenging.

We are humbly asking for your support as we navigate:

Loss of income while Jeremy is unable to work (he does not have short-term disability coverage).

Travel and lodging costs as he moves to out-of-state rehab, where I will need to travel back and forth while also caring for our kids.

Ongoing recovery and therapy expenses, including equipment, home modifications, and adaptive tools to help him regain independence.

Everyday needs - groceries, bills, and essentials - while our family focuses on getting Jeremy the best care possible.
