Hey Everyone!
I wanted to start this campaign with a huge THANK YOU for your unwavering support both emotionally and financially. This journey has been rewarding to say the least.
As many of you may already know, I am the first African-American man to be accepted and to eventually complete the FIFA Master - a comprehensive program that covers humanities of sports, sports finance, and sports law. The people on the journey with me have only added to the experience. Of the 32 students in my cohort, 26 different nationalities are proudly represented.
I’m currently based in Milan, Italy studying sports management at SDA Bocconi. This is the second of the program’s three modules. We recently finished our first module in Leicester, United Kingdom at De Montfort University, we dove into the sports humanities module. Finally, we will end the program at the University of Neuchatel in Neuchatel, Switzerland where we tackle the ins and outs of sports law.
Daily, I find myself learning from the most prolific historians and industry professionals increasingly blown away by their mastery of their respective crafts in our first module. Outside of lectures, we also have had the privilege to tour Wimbledon, Manchester United, Manchester City, Leicester City, and the English countryside visiting other football clubs while learning about their history and operations. I’ve grown to love Leicester quicker than I thought possible. From its people, its love of sports, and the uniqueness of the city itself, I feel at home here.
In Milan, our cohort is enjoying viewing the headquarters and meeting the executive directors of Ferrari, AC Milan, and Inter Milan. The culmination of our studies is a tour of FIFA headquarters during the last module in Switzerland.

With all of the good that comes with the program, and there really is too much to expand on here, the cost of living abroad is significant. I cannot lie -- the currency exchange rate is humbling to say the least.
That said, I have decided to reach out to friends and family once again to solicit help in the form of financial donation, words of encouragement, or simply sharing my journey with others. This will go strictly to keeping me in Europe until graduation. With both Milan and Neuchatel being high cost-of-living cities coupled with each member of the cohort expected to find their own accommodations, money has grown tighter and tighter. At first, when I did this GFM I was scared. I was scared to ask for help. It wasn't until I realized that this was an investment from my multiple communities into me. I realized my communities will get me to where I need to go with the promise being to always pay it forward for those who come behind me.
