Jeremy's Directorial Debut

Donation protected

Hello Friends!
Jeremy here! Truly grateful you clicked the link :)

As many of you know, I've worked in the New York film industry for the last several years, shooting documentaries, short films, music videos and commercials. I've learned a lot, helping my friends actualize their visions as storytellers. And alas, it is time to direct a film of my own!

The only bad thing about movies is that they are really f***ing expensive to make. But with your help, we can make an Oscar-worthy short film AND you will simultaneously help launch my career as a director.

Production starts on September 14th and wraps on the 16th, which just so happens to be my birthday. Think of your contribution as the best birthday gift ever!!

About the Film
When I moved to the Northeast after college, I had recurring nostalgia for the people and place where I grew up in Southwest Missouri. I tried writing a few scripts inspired by my neck of the woods that dealt with hunting culture, but they never quite came together. I was reminded of these false starts when my collaborator Oleg Blinov came to me in late May with some ideas for a movie. In the wake of the Uvalde and Buffalo massacres, the pieces of the story I had tried to tell began to connect. I wanted to write a character-driven story that juxtaposed hunting culture with the inexorable, complicated, and uniquely American issue of gun violence.

The Hunter's Lament
Set in the American Rust Belt, The Hunter's Lament follows a grief-stricken hunter on his return to work at a gun shop. Forced to confront a fatal mistake, he realizes that moving on might mean leaving behind the only world he knows.
