Surgery Support for Sensei Noll

Help this family with unexpected surgery expenses!

Jeremy Noll, his wife Rhonda, both Colorado natives, have been influential and significant members of the Commerce City/Denver Metro Community since 2006.  After 15 years of Karate training, The Jeremy Noll Martial Arts Academy opened in 2014.  While both working full time jobs, the Nolls teach Shorin Ryu Karate an additional 20 hours a week.  On top of this, they are raising three teenage girls! The dojo was Jeremy’s lifelong dream but as with most small businesses, came at a significant personal and family cost.  One of many sacrifices made was the additional cost of personal insurance coverage for Jeremy.   Earlier this year while training, Jeremy tore one of the tendon attachments of his bicep muscle.  After researching their options, the Nolls were able to find a fixed price surgery option in Oklahoma that would significantly reduce their overall costs.  This is where you can help this hard working family!

The Jeremy Noll Martial Arts Academy Dojo has grown exponentially and guided so many childrens' (and adults alike)  lives for the better via the creed of karate (i.e. honor, loyalty, respect, control).

Opening the dojo has not come easily, though.  In order to get their dream of starting a family business off the ground, the Noll family have had to make huge sacrifices in their personal and professional lives.  Rhonda works full time offsite so that she can make sure the dojo (that runs mainly after typical working hours) always comes first. Jeremy works several jobs in order to support the dojo as well, including copier repair and being an UBER driver, for example. All of this while working at the dojo and practicing to maintain his 4th Don black belt (of course, being at the top of his sport is crucial to their business success).  Their three teenage daughters, Alexis, Gabby and Saharra have stepped up by teaching some of the younger kids classes while another is helping get to gymnastics practice.  You will also find these respectful, assertive, helpful young women cleaning the dojo, assisting with the day-to-day tasks of running the business in addition to their homework, chores at home, school sports and jobs.

Giving back to the community is important in the overall teaching of the karate students at Jeremy Noll Martial Arts Academy.   They have made it a personal and professional priority to try and further help those in need by volunteering time to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for children and the Ronald McDonald House whenever possible. The students get the opportunity to serve at the Ronald McDonald House and a Kick-a-Thon is held in addition to a clothing drive to serve CASA.

Unfortunately, as said,  earlier this year,  the Noll family suffered a devastating setback. Jeremy Noll was badly injured and his distal bicep was no longer functional and required surgery. You can imagine the disastrous news this has been for this family and their young business. Due to all the expenses they incurred following their dream of opening the dojo, Jeremy did not have insurance that would cover the cost of this necessary surgery and they have to pay for everything out of pocket. Just the time it will take away from the family and the income lost could be potentially catastrophic for this family. They are already pushing their financial limits trying to run a successful small business, raise a family and be responsible parents and members of the community. The cost of this surgery is a large financial hardship.

They did their research and found a location in Oklahoma that was able do the surgery they needed for the best cost, but the price of the surgery alone was $8,000! This does not account for two trips driving back and forth to Oklahoma for surgery and a check-up, hotel, food, additional out of pocket medical costs including referrals, MRIs and upcoming physical therapy. There are also wages lost due to being unable to work and any other unforeseen costs that may arise out of this completely unplanned, but very necessary surgery.

The surgery took place on April 20th and time will tell but looks to have been successful!  A follow up visit back in Oklahoma will be required in a few months and in the meantime, time consuming and expensive rehabilitation will be happening for Jeremy.

This family needs our help and YOU can make a difference in their lives! (And subsequently, this community)!

As everyone who has met them can attest to, there has never been a more giving and more deserving family.  Now it is our turn to step up and help them. PLEASE consider donating to help this family and Jeremy cover the costs of the surgery he so desperately needed. Our goal amount is $15,000 to cover the surgery and anything they could possibly need during this time.  ANYTHING you can contribute (really, $10.00, $20.00, $100.00 or more, anything helps!) is GREATLY appreciated and would help this family tremendously during this difficult and stressful time. We plan to give regular updates so you can see how your contribution is directly helping them and would be glad to answer any questions. We cannot thank you enough for your generosity and help for this loving, giving family!

About us: The author and a few other families at the dojo took the initiative to create this gofundme page for the Noll family (after receiving their permission). All proceeds (less gofundme fees) go directly to them.  We all felt strongly about helping this wonderful family and thank you for taking the time to do so as well!
