A few weeks ago, Jeremy's youngest sister, Amy, passed away from unexpected heart failure. That same week, Jeremy's wife spotted an abnormal mole on his back.  He went in to the doctor to have it checked out and was diagnosed with melanoma two days before his 40th birthday.  They did a lymph node biopsy and these tests came back positive for cancer in three lymph nodes, which raised his diagnosis to stage IIIB.  He then underwent a CT of the head and chest to see if the cancer had further spread into any organs, and as of yet, there is no organ involvement.  He is preparing to begin his chemo and other treatments, which, we will update as we hear more news. 

Jeremy is a gentle, loving husband and father to four beautiful girls, aged 9-16.  He has been the main provider for his family for the past 18 years.  Jeremy and his family live on a very tight budget and, while they do have health insurance, it is not great.  They have a 10k annual deductable before any insurance kicks in.  To top this off, the cost of cancer meds is exorbitant, especially for their income, and is only slightly covered by his insurance plan.
