Jeremy Lost His Battle

Donation protected
As many of you know, my son, Jeremy Krueger, was diagnosed on February 9th with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer metastasized to his liver.  Jeremy is only 37 years old and is happily married with four beautiful children.

I originally started a YouCaring fundraiser for him, but YouCaring was bought out by GoFundMe and we are required to start a new fundraising campaign.  So this is it.  YouCaring ends July 31st and you will not be able to access that fundraiser.

If you weren't following the YouCaring fundraiser and are new to Jeremy's story, please continue reading.

Painful blood clots in Jeremy's legs prevented him from walking (and working as a welder).  He went to the Bonner General ER one Friday night because he was in such pain and couldn't walk.  A CT scan found a tumor on his pancreas and liver.  He had large, painful bloodclots in his legs.  He was sent to KMC in Cd'A  who did further testing.  He was referred to an oncologist, had a port installed and began chemo.

To keep the blood clots away, he had to be put on Lovenox, which is administered twice a day through an injection into his stomach, given to him by Jennifer.  Jeremy has always been afraid of needles.  His weight dropped from 170 to 145.  He was so thin he couldn't bear to look at himself and he made Jennifer remove all the mirrors in their bedroom.

Jeremy started getting chemo FOLFIRINOX (combination of 5-fluorouracil, leucovorin, irinotecan, and oxaliplatin aka 5-FU) but after two sessions two weeks apart, the chemo didn't work and the cancer spread to his lungs.  His oncologist then changed his chemo to Gezmar/Abraxane and the lung tumors disappeared, but he still has the tumors on his pancreas and liver.  He does chemo 3 out of 4 weeks a month and the chemo is extremely hard on his body.  He has lost all of his hair and is down three to four days with fatigue and vomiting following the chemo.  It's only just before time to do chemo again that he starts to feel a little better.

PC is an aggressive cancer for which there is no cure.  We take it one day at a time.  This is a mother's worst nightmare, but Jeremy's wife and kids need him, and he is a fighter.    He's not going down without a fight.  He's too young to have this deadly disease.

Although Jeremy's numbers are getting better and he has put on some of his lost weight (he's up to 165 lbs) he is still extremely sick.  This cancer is horrific and it has devastated his family.  His youngest son turns ten this Friday and is having a very difficult time coming to terms with his father's illness.  He is in counseling, but he's not the same little boy he was prior to his father's diagnosis.

This beautiful caring loving family continues to need your prayers, financial assistance and care.  Please keep them in your prayers and if you are able, please donate.  If you are not able to donate, please share this fundraiser publicly so that it goes far and wide.   Please also pray hard for a cure, for a miracle, for anything to keep Jeremy alive.

Thank you and God bless you and yours!
