On Friday, February 24th, Jeremy was traumatically injured while doing some tree cutting work. He was struck in the back of his head with a log resulting in a occipital bone (skull) fracture, a small fracture in his spine (T12 vertebrae), and severe damage to both knees.
To catch everyone up to the point we are at today:
After MRIs, CT scans, X-Rays, etc. it was determined that the ligaments in both knees were torn, likely from the weight of the log causing his knees to buckle.
Jeremy will need all of the ligaments in his left knee repaired. The surgery for that was supposed to take place yesterday (2/28) but the OR was backed up. We are still waiting on a new surgery date.
Jeremy was just taken back today (3/1) for surgery on his right leg. All of the ligaments were also torn in the knee and the blood flow was cut off from a clocked artery for about 12 hours. Due to the lack of blood flow the muscle in his calf died. Sadly they will be amputating his leg right above the knee.
