⭐️ AN UPDATE 6-4-25⭐️
I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and donations to this fundraiser for my workplace accident. I am amazed at my recovery from this accident, being as serious as it was. I am truly grateful for everything everyone has done for me. Things are improving everyday, and I hope I can recover to the point of no side effects. Again thank you for the support from my family, friends, coworkers, everyone at OMC, and beyond. Me and my family are so grateful for the thoughts and support, and the donations to get through this. I will return to OMC in the maintenance shop, as soon as the doctors start to release me based on my recovery.
Thank you Jeremy Sheldon and family
Please keep the prayers, healing thoughts and good vibes coming. Jeremy is moving in the right direction. He is off of the IV sedation which means he has moved from ICU to Acute care status. He is still in the same ward/bed but is getting to do more like moving to a chair which seems to be a nice change from the hospital bed. His bladder hasn’t woken up quite yet but he did get his catheter out which has been a huge frustration for him. Today he was also able to get up and walk with a walker for a short distance. He is very restless and having a hard time getting comfortable. He is very sensitive to light. Since he is no longer on sedation, he is feeling his pain. His head hurts a lot. Jeremy knows he is in Seattle at the hospital now but hasn’t grasped that he had brain surgery. He did remember that he has a job and was adamant to call his boss today to call in sick. He is starting to ask what day it is. He is a bit wild and wants to leave, so there is a lot of redirecting and reminding him he had brain surgery and wrangling him back into bed. Once he stops pulling out his IV and trying to escape then he can move to an actual floor room and get out of ICU/ acute care.
Hi Everyone,
I am asking for anyone able to help out , please do, even if all you can do is share this on your page, anything will be so appreciated.
Wednesday March 13, Jeremy fell at work and was found in the boiler room with a nasty head wound. We don't know how long he was down or what exactly happened .
Once found, He was quickly brought to the ER and was found to have 3 areas of bleeding in his head. He was flown to Harborview and had emergency brain surgery.
Surgery went well and they were able to remove a large blood clot and release the pressure on his brain. His short term memory has not came back yet, but he does know who Missi and the kids are and seems to remember things from before the accident.
He was moved from neuro ICU to a different ICU and is settling in as much as possible.
Missi and her family will be staying with him there through out this time. Right now we don't have answers as to how long this will take to recover and goes without saying they will be missing work as well.
Thank you everyone for supporting this sweet family during this difficult
UPDATE:
Today the dr’s removed Jeremy’s drain that was in his incision. Kaleb and I were able to see his brain scans yesterday. During his surgery they removed 3 inches of blood from the inside of his brain and 11 inches outside of his skull. He has two additional bleeding areas that they can not do surgery on. One is on the inside of his brain and the other is in the front area.
We just have to wait for his body to absorb the blood that remains.
Unfortunately all of blood that is still on his brain has caused him to loose all short term memory. The doctors have described him as Drew Barrymore’s character Lucy from the movie 50 first dates. A bit ironic if you know how much he loves Adam Sandler movies.
Today’s goal is to try and get him off of IV sedation and transitioned to oral meds. He can’t move to acute care until he is off of IV sedation but as they are weening him off he wants to pull IV’s, tubes, stitches off of him. A happy medium seems to be slow going. So not a lot of change today. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers he needs them all.
