Jeremy Schantz was found deceased on the morning of Monday Sept 14th. He was struggling with depression and ultimately it seems he wasn't able to win that battle. He was loved by many and had an impact on so many people. He used his brilliant sense of humor to mitigate his own troubles, but he also brought a lot of happiness, laughter and joy to everyone around him. He was there for a lot of people, sometimes to distract and joke, sometimes just to listen to the troubles of others. He was loved by his friends and family, and he will always be missed and remembered.
This GoFundMe will be used to handle everything in the aftermath of this tragic event, from simply getting all of his family together in California to remember him and handle everything, to paying for services and funeral expenses. No one, of course, will be expected to contribute but thank you to anyone that does. There is still much to be decided about what to do, and who should be handling it all, but I'm sure all of us will work together to take care of it.
Depression is a very real affliction and many people suffer from it personally, and even more are impacted by it. Please do everything you can to be there for the people you love and care about.
If you want to talk about anything, recount a particular story or memory that you have about Jeremy, or just have a conversation about it, you can reach out to me on Discord, Facebook, E-mail or if you have my phone number you can use that too. I am happy to speak with anyone that was important to Jeremy, or that Jeremy was important to as well.
If you knew him from somewhere online, perhaps as Ubermaniac or Schmeel please feel free to include your screen name with ANY level of contribution. And please don't hesitate to contact me directly or any other members of the family. We would all do well to hear your stories and memories or to relate to any of you. I know he meant a great deal to a lot of people, and I wouldn't deny or restrict any of you in the slightest, even if you have nothing to give, your thoughts, memories and feelings are always welcome with all of us. I know in my heart of hearts that even though not all of our interactions were in the flesh they meant just as much to him and all of us all the same.
Kind regards to you all,
Timothy Schantz
