Jeremy Lamar Scholarship Fund
Tax deductible
Suicide and mental health issues can be tremendously difficult to deal with and often aren’t talked about because they sadly carry a substantial amount of stigma. Recently, a close friend and supporter of Mental Health America of Boone County, Jeremy Lamar, passed away due to his struggle with mental health issues.
Jeremy not only had a huge heart for Boone County, and an undeniable impact on our community, he was an amazing and caring man in his personal life as well. He loved to make others happy and often joked with everyone around him. Sadly, though, this was not how he felt on the inside. On March 1, 2018 our dear friend took his own life.
Therefore, MHABC is seeking to raise money in memory of Jeremy as well as everyone affected by suicide and mental health issues. All donations will be used to fund an annual scholarship or scholarships for graduating Lebanon High School students entering college, with a desire to ultimately enter a mental health-related field.
In partnership with Mental Health America of Boone County, the Class of 1995—Jeremy Lamar’s graduating class—initiated this scholarship fund in Jeremy’s honor. Lamar and Lamar Insurance also graciously partnered with MHABC to endow this scholarship.
Though you smile is gone forever.
And your hand we can no longer touch.
We hold on to our memories.
Of the friend we loved so much.
Your memory is our keepsake.
With which we will never part.
God has you in his keeping
And we have you in our hearts.
