For those of you that do not know this fine young gentleman. He is my cousin Jeremy Janes from Glovertown, NL. Jeremy has had cerebral Palsy since birth, but that doesn’t stop him much. He lost his dad to ALS 4 years ago so he hasn't had it easy. And yet after all that he has managed to focus and lose 75 pounds in the last year so he could make himself healthier and make things easier for his respite workers. Theres no stopping him!! He is smart, caring, and very outgoing. He has excelled in many areas of his life as well as being a motivational speaker for people with disablilities, and has completed university. Unfortunately what keeps him going and exploring has given out. His wheelchair accessible van has been giving him trouble for the last few years as it was very old and now I think it has its last break down. To many this wouldn’t be such a tragic ordeal, but for Jeremy his van is his legs and his means of transportation to his appointments and living in general. Jeremy doesn’t have the resources to be able to acquire a new van and then have it installed/modified with the hydraulic ramp etc. This would cost on an estimate approximately $70,000 - $80,000. This is a substantial amount of money. If I could only win the lottery he would have one tomorrow but that is not the case. He has a lot of family and friends from near and far so this came up as the number one idea to help him out. So I figured it’s worth a try. He is such a deserving guy and having his van keeps him on the go. His wheelchair is motorized so it cannot fit into a normal vehicle. So if this could be shared maybe he will have a chance to aquire a new one and not to worry about having a van that was safe enough for the highway etc. Every little bit counts and will help for sure. Please share and thank you in advance for any help that can be given to him.
