Support Jeremy During Covid-19
Donation protected
Jeremy Hudson is a 47-year-old DC resident who is raising money to cover the cost of his health care and basic expenses during the pandemic. He is a father of four adult children: Jeremy, Jr. (27), Justin (25), Jonathan (23), and Tiera (21).
Jeremy explains, "my greatest focus in life is living long enough to meet my grandkids. I don't want to die at 47 years old. I've faced death so many times that there must be a reason I'm still alive, so I'm working to stay alive."
Under the supervision of his doctors, and in order to maintain his health, Jeremy has recently lost 120 pounds (down from 400 to 280) and is working to stay safe and stay home during the covid-19 pandemic.
Jeremy is originally from Miami, but has lived in DC for 17 years and currently lives in Columbia Heights. Throughout his career, he worked as a store manager at Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, and Domino's. Due to illness, he can no longer work, and his only income is Social Security Disability Insurance.
Jeremy has had two heart attacks, and has lived with congestive heart failure for nine years, in addition to other health conditions Jeremy is housebound to avoid covid-19, because his health conditions put him at very high risk. Most of his monthly SSDI check ($1448) each month goes to back-payments of child support, which stalled due to his illness ($510), Medicare insurance ($155), rent ($624 including $200 past due payments), and his phone bill ($80). This leaves him with about $40 a month for food, medicine, etc. He would like to raise $1500 to help him cover the cost of essentials.
If you are in a position to help, please consider supporting our neighbor, Jeremy, during this challenging time.
