Last year on October 20th Jeremy was admitted to Lake Huron in ICU with pneumonia. He was discharged on Oct 24th. Starting early spring he went to his doctor multiple times, and then back to Lake Huron on July 16th being diagnosed with a viral infection and sent back home. His breathing just kept getting worse, so on Monday August 25th we took him to McLaren Port Huron where he would be admitted with possible pneumonia again. By Thursday August 28th he was admitted to the ICU. At this point they started testing him for many infections, because his lungs were so damaged. On Saturday August 30th they asked him if they could put him on a ventilator to help relax his lungs. He agreed. Monday September 1st, the doctor came in and said all the test they ran were negative and it was time to transfer him. Late Monday night, early Tuesday morning he was transferred to Henry Ford Main. They started from scratch and started retesting him for everything and then some. Their next step was to try to do a Lumbar Puncture to test for meningitis, but they didn't think he was stable enough to do that. When we went to see him on Tuesday September 9th, the doctor came in and said their last step would be to try to lay him prone, meaning on his belly to try to help his lungs. They attempted to turn him and his oxygen dropped pretty low and they told us it was time to come say goodbye, as his heart would probably stop soon. Unfortunately later that evening Jeremy's heart would stop and he would pass away peacefully.
We have had many people ask over the last 2 weeks how to help. If anyone is able to help, we are asking for donations to help with funeral expenses. We thank everyone for everything over these last 2 weeks and appreciate all of you.
