Jeremiah Michael's Recovery

Donation protected
As some of you know, Jeremiah, a loving father, devoted husband, veteran and educator has been in critical condition. He has been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Maui Memorial Medical Center, where he was admitted on November 5th.

He was initially diagnosed with Aseptic Meningitis but has had an unexpected and aggressive decline of his physical and mental state. Further testing indicate that the inflammation has reached his brain and spinal cord resulting in significant neurological abnormalities. While he is no longer in an induced coma, he has very limited movement to his upper extremities and as of now is paralyzed from the waist down.

We are so blessed to have a truly caring team of doctors and nurses from infectious disease to neurology working day-in and day-out to determine why his health situation is so precarious and unstable.

The most optimistic prognosis as his condition becomes more stable, has him moving from the ICU to a long-term rehabilitation institute on the mainland that focuses on brain and spinal injury. This will be followed by months, and very possibly years, of dedicated rehabilitation where he will need to be monitored by a dedicated team of medical professionals. All of which will prove to be a costly endeavor.

Meanwhile, his wife Kristin has been the sole caretaker for their sons while working (when she can). She has not been able to return to work full-time, and it’s not clear when she will be able to do so.

After asking about Jeremiah’s status, the most common question people ask is “How can we help?”

We have established this fund to answer that question.

All fund donations will go straight to Jeremiah’s wife, and sons, Dylan and Logan, to help pay for his medical needs, including future rehabilitation, and help the family as they care for Jeremiah.

We believe in the power of collective prayer. If you cannot donate monetarily, we ask that you please share this information and pray for Jeremiah and his family.

We are very grateful for the donations, support, and prayers, we have received and will update this page with his progress.

Please keep the family in your prayers.
