Jered Standing, owner of the beloved butcher shop Standing’s Butchery, passed away on Thursday night. He was 44.

Jered was a well-known, respected, and incredibly loved member of the Los Angeles culinary community, known not only for his butchery skills but also his quick wit, his genuine care for his team and his customers, and his desire to make an impact on the meat industry.

Jered’s friends are organizing a public memorial on Sunday, March 3rd so that his life can be celebrated by the community that loved him. Funds from this GoFundMe will be used to set up and host the memorial. Any remaining money raised after memorial costs will go directly to Jered’s family via his mother Marcia for funeral and legal expenses.
