If you know Jera, you love him! He's a DIY scene legend in Philly, having lived at and help run & organize events at Haus of Yarga until its unfortunate eviction. Since then he's been working construction, organizing events at other artist-run spaces & DJing between work trips, until this past Saturday when he had a cardiac arrest at work. "I had a cardiac arrest during work last Saturday that literally almost killed me.

I was knocked on the floor, leaking blood out my mouth. The ambulance came right on time and shocked me with a defibrillator. I woke up in a hospital with no idea what happened. I am so lucky to be alive right now and I've been sober for the past 3 weeks at this point from everything, but things catch up to you I guess and now i have to transfer to a hospital in Boston to get surgery for my heart, which will be an Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD): This device is implanted in the chest and detects and corrects life-threatening irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias) by delivering an electrical shock.

I can't work my current job anymore so unfortunately I'm going to need a lot of help. Right now the only money i have is going towards my rent."
