September of 2014 is a month that forever changed the life of Jeralyn Fetter, her husband, Clay Fetter, and their two boys, Cole and Zack. After being sick for several months with what was first diagnosed as kidney stones, Jeralyn learned she had Multiple Sclerosis. The doctors told her it is one of the worst cases they have ever seen and she had unknowingley been battling it for more than 17 years.
After her official diagnosis, the disease hit with such force that September of 2014 would be the last month that Jeralyn would make dinner for her family every night, run her kids to soccor practice, get the mail out of the mailbox with ease, and do the 100,000,000 other things you and I take for granted. It would be the last month that she would report to her job she loved so much at Riverside Ballet Arts, and it would be the last month she would drive a car.
Jeralyn traded in her busy mom life for a life with days spent in doctors' offices constantly being poked and prodded by numerous doctors all eager to help her but no one able to stop the progression of her disease. She traded in her busy mom life for countless hours on the telephone begging insurance companies to approve medications and treatments only to later find the medications and treatments aren't working (and with that comes stacks of medical bills). She traded in her busy mom life for a life of constant, neverending physical pain, left-eye blindness, issues with walking and balance and the list goes on.......Jeralyn never complains; Jeralyn never asks, "Why me"; Jeralyn will always show you a smile on her face despite the hell she is living in.
A few months back, Jeralyn was accepted to be assessed in Moscow, Russia for HSCT treatment (stem cell transplant). This is a procedure that Jeralyn wants to undergo so she can get healthy again and be the mom and wife she feels her family deserves. It can help with the agonizing pain she lives with 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and stop the progression of further deterioration of her health. It can potentially give Jeralyn back the life that has been shattered by this terrible disease.
We received news last week that Russia will now be treating her when she goes in May rather than just assessing her. This is the opportunity Jeralyn spent the last two and a half years praying for. With the progression of her disease, we don't have any time to waste. We need to get her to Russia. Let's all show Jeralyn our love and support and do what we can to help get her there. We need your help. Insurance covers NOTHING!
On behalf of Jeralyn's famliy, we thank you for taking the time to read this. Please pray for our wife, mom, daughter, cousin, niece, grandaughter, and best friend. She is so special to all of us and we love her more than anything in the world. We look forward to updating you with news of her journey....JERALYN IS GOING TO RUSSIA!
