Jen's Fight Fund

As many of you know on September 3rd our Jen was diagnosed with breast cancer.  The last few weeks have been a rollarcoaster of emotions for her.

She said it better than I ever could:

"At 4:11 yesterday I received the call no one ever wants to receive…” Jen, you have cancer” No! No! No! that isn’t possible, yet it very much is. Rewind back to sometime in May. After hearing about a few friends that had felt some lumps in their breasts I thought, oh yeah, I should really check mine too. I had just finished breast feeding in April (yes he was 3, don’t judge, I needed my sleep)  so I was completely surprised to find a descent size lump in my left breast. I proceeded to try to schedule a mammogram, but was told I needed to go to an OBGYN first. So, I did on June 6th. A nurse practitioner saw me, felt the lump and told me very matter of fact, I am 99.9% sure you have a clogged duct. That happens all of the time. But, I am going to schedule for you to have an ultrasound just in case. I was a little upset and could only see dollar signs at the time. I said “why would I have an ultrasound if you are so confident it isn’t anything” her response, there is always that .01% Yes, yes there is. Unfortunately, my pride got in the way for 3 months but when the lump didn’t go away, a few friends and the holy spirit nudged (this is very gentle word) me to schedule my appointment. And after an ultra sound and a biopsy on 2 areas, both contain cancer.
I am calling out to all of my prayer warriors out there, that there is no more cancer in my body, that it is ONLY in those 2 spots. I will be getting an MRI and talking with a surgeon in the very near future and will update as I can.

I am so sorry to not reach out to some of you individually, I just can’t right now. I am going to fight this and beat it…I have two beautiful little men that need their Momma for a LONG time! I am so thankful to have so much love and support in so many arenas in my life. Please understand I need a little time right now, but I absolutely would appreciate your prayers. Thank you so much…much love
God’s got this and God has me."

There is a lot of good news in the bad. Jen's prognosis is a good one! The survival rate for her type of cancer is 80%! Jen is a fighter and she is determined to be a part of that percentage. However; It's going to be a long, hard battle and those dollar signs are already stacking up.  On October 5th she will have a bilateral mastectomie (removal off both breasts).  About three weeks after her surgery she will start chemo-therapy every 2-3 weeks for 6 treatments.  Once Chemo is done she will start radiation treatments for 5-6 weeks, 5 days a week. Her very final step will be the reconstruction surgery (near next March). It's a daunting and taxing reality for her and she will need all of our support.

We all know how hard it can be to ask for help, but we are a family here at Spa-Brokers. Jen goes out of her way every day for every single one of us and I think it's only right we try to do something for her in her time of need.  There are other campaigns being run, a genius sign up sheet to bring her and the boys meals,  and another gofundme page that's been dedicated to her cause, but this one is specifically from her work family.
Don has made the very generous offer to match whatever anyone else has donated. So if you can contribute to this fund please do, if you can't please send out your prayers for her and the boys.

All funds will be given directly to Jen at the end of our campaign and she will be able to withdraw them herself.
I'm currently just acting as a straw boss.

Thank you so much for your love, and support.
