Hello, this handsome little man is
Jensen. He is 4 years old and he needs a heart transplant. Let me take you back to the beginning of this story. Jensen was born with a heart defect called HLSL (Hypoplastic left heart syndrome). He had his first surgery shortly after birth Glenn procedure surgery. He had a second surgery at approximately 8 months old the Norwood procedure. Jensen has spent his life on at times many medications to prolong surgery to let him grow, get a bit older and stronger. In April 2021 Jensen was set to have the final surgery to correct the heart defect the Fontan surgery. After 3 weeks in Akron Children's Hospital recovering Jensen finally got to go home with a promising healthy future. Unfortunately in August he began to get sick again. Another trip to Akron Children's Hospital due to fluid retention (pleural effusion) in his chest cavity. After a few days in the hospital he was cleared and sent home. After a short time at home he began to have complications again. Another trip to the ER lands him at the Cleveland Clinic, due to lack of circulation and fatigue. An echocardiogram found his heart was not working properly. This is where Chip and Betsy (his grandparents) receive news no family ever want to get. Jensen needs a heart transplant. As you can imagine his multiple stays at hospitals, uncountable doctors visits, endless meds, therapies and countless miles driven for medical treatment has the bills piling up with more to come. The cost of medical expenses, gas for travel, food away from home on top of loss work time for Chip and Betsy prove to be more than they can handle on their own, more than any one of us could handle to be honest. That is where we come in, their friends, family, community, tribe. They say it takes a village to raise a child so lets show the Keller's how big that village is. Any amount will help, no donation is too small.
