Jen's Journey: Overcoming an Unfortunate Crash
Hey, I'm Jen,
This is really embarrassing for me and I hate that I have to do this, but I'm gonna do it because we really need help.
On 12/28, I was driving back to my sister's house in Republic, Washington, around 10pm.
We were 20 miles from her house when, turning on a corner, I hit black ice and we rolled and landed upside down with my daughters (16, 14, and 9) and my 11-month-old dog inside.
Amazingly, we were/are physically okay for the most part. My shoulder and lower back hurt, and my 14-year-old (who has seizures) got a black eye and cut her fingers on some glass while crawling out.
Even my dog was okay.
Unfortunately, we had no service, so we couldn't call for help.
We tried yelling, but no one heard us.
I made the decision to start walking towards Republic until we either got service or found someone.
Amazingly, just after going around the corner, there was a house!
We knocked on the door until a lady came, and she tried to call the emergency line and non-emergency line, but no one answered.
We called my sister (EMT/Wildfire fighter) and she picked up after several tries and said she would come get us.
I called emergency once we got to my sister's to report the accident.
Unfortunately, I didn't know my auto payment for my insurance didn't go through the week before, so everything is out of pocket, and I can't just get rid of my suv as I bought my suv from a guy on market place in 3/24, with the money I got from being rear-ended in 10/23, and having to total out my van that I inherited from my dad when he passed away in 9/22.
Few days after buying the truck, my oldest and I were cleaning the truck and she took everything out of the glovebox and accidentally threw away the title and registration that had not yet been put in my name.
I have reached out to the guy I bought the truck from several times asking him if he could help me with changing things over into my name since losing the title and registration, I have also had a friend try to talk to him as well, and he keeps saying that he was sell the truck for his "friend", but now, he is no longer in contact with the owner of the truck and i haven't had the money to get this truck in my name or file for a "loss of title".
My job is a pet business (All About Your Pets) on Facebook, is doing grooming, sitting, and taking care of people's pets, and I go to the person's house to do it as, unfortunately, my 3 kids and I are homeless and living in my SUV that we crashed in.
So with that being said, I haven't been able to work.
The major things wrong with my truck were the front and back windshields broken, my driver side mirror is broken, and big dents on the roof and driver side, the roof racks are broken, some of my lights are broken and the driver side running board is bent.
My sister and a friend of mine were amazing and paid for my windshields and gas to get to Colville and back.
We were supposed to return back to Everett on the 5th for my kids to go back to school, but obviously that didn't happen. We have made it back finally on 1/14. I called their schools the day after the accident to let them know the situation, and they said they would take care of the attendance.
On 1/9, my sister and I drove the SUV (it did amazing driving) and her car over to Colville and got the windshields fixed.
As of now, I'm still not able to start my work back up as some of my grooming stuff such as my grooming table and razors were ruined in the crash and need to replace them to start grooming again as that's a big part of my income.
I took my truck to a shop on 1/15, as the truck started making noise, and they said the truck needs work done under the hood to make it safe again, it also needs an alinement, brakes and rotors, and my tires are starting to wear down to almost bald.
So please, if you could help, I would greatly appreciate it, and if you're in Snohomish County, I can offer my pet services to you or help clean your house or yard, cars, anything to cover your help.
Sorry this was so long and thank you in advance.
