To know Jen is to know strength in its purest form. She’s a fighter—resilient, determined, and endlessly resourceful. Life has thrown more at her than most could handle, and still, she rises.

On March 3rd, 2023, Jen was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Before MS, she was a single mom working and managing a cleaning business, working hard is who Jen is. She was unstoppable—until her body made her stop. Just weeks before her diagnosis, she had to step away from work. And once she learned that MS is a progressive disease and not something that was reversible, she made the incredibly difficult decision to file for disability.

Anyone familiar with that process knows how slow and draining it can be. But Jen didn’t give up and she didn’t ask for help. For two years, with zero income, she survived—thanks to pure grit, creativity, and the support of her son. She propagates her own plants to sell online. She grows her own food when she can. She trades laundry services for lawn care, because she can no longer mow it herself. If there is a way, Jen finds it.

But now—she’s tired.

Her disability hearing is finally scheduled for September, and her lawyer is confident in her case. But she still has to get through the next few months. That’s where we come in.

The best birthday gift we could give Jen right now is relief. A little breathing room. A chance to rest without the constant weight of how she’ll afford her next meal, transportation to her appointments, or her bills.

Any donation—no matter how small—makes a real difference. If you’d prefer to give in the form of a Food Lion gift card, message one of us for her email address and you can send it to her that way.

Let’s give this incredible woman the break she’s more than earned.
