My name is Mandy Shobar and I'm Jennifer Gibson's cousin and close friend. On Thursday, July 26, 2018, Jen's beloved log cabin home and all of her possessions were consumed by the Carr Fire. While Jen and Wyatt were able to evacuate safely, they lost everything and will be rebuilding their life from scratch. The irony of Jen losing her home and all of her belongings to a fire is probably not lost on any of us that know and love her as she has dedicated much of her career and life to prescribed fires and environmental causes as a Fire Ecologist/Biologist and Park Ranger for Whiskeytown National Park.
To help Jen get through this rough patch while she navigates the murky and bureaucratic landscape of insurance and property loss, her friend Shari Gardner and myself have set up this page to help ease the struggle until she is able to get up on her feet.
This fund would help her immediately pay for housing, clothes, food and necessities for her loyal dog, Wyatt. Most of all, it would grant peace of mind so that she can rebuild and continue her work to help others do so as well. Any additional funds accrued will fill in the gaps that insurance cannot cover.
If you are not comfortable donating to this fund, feel free to contact me or Shari to discuss other ways you can help (amazon gift cards, Petco e-cards, etc).
On behalf of me, Shari, Jen and Jen's entire family- Thank you for taking the time to read, distribute and contribute. We love this amazing woman and as she's always been a loyal and dedicated daughter, sister, cousin and friend.
