In 2023, I was diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma in my left elbow. I had a resection to remove the 10cm tumor, followed by two rounds of AIM Chemotherapy and sixty rounds of radiation. I was given a clean bill of health. Unfortunately, this past September, scans showed that the Sarcoma was alive and well and was metastatic to my lungs. In November, I had a wedge resection to remove two larger nodules from my right lung. I am left with what is referred to as tiny snowflake-like bits of Sarcoma throughout both lungs. I am being treated at Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle. My oncologist did her fellowship at the leading hospital in the world for Sarcoma treatment. I am in good hands with Dr. Park.
On December 30th, I start the first of six rounds of AIM Chemotherapy in Seattle. Each round requires a week-long hospital stay in Seattle inpatient at the University of WA Medical Center. The expense of travel, hotels, etc., has placed a hardship on my loved ones as I have no income currently while I await Social Security benefits. I know that everyone is experiencing financial difficulties at this time. Please don't feel bad if you can't donate. Your prayers and positive thoughts mean the most as I fight back this beast to have more time with my loved ones and to finish raising Steve and I's young daughter, Claire. I am determined to see her graduate from high school in six years. I want time to sail away with my Robert and live out some of our dreams. I may have stage four incurable cancer, but it's been proven that this beast can be fought off. That's what I'm going to do!
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Much love, Jen
