Help Highland Local Remain a staple in Highland!

Donation protected
**UPDATE- Our Mom has gotten a hard deadline extension of Monday to be able to have all of the clearances she needs to keep the liquor license from going dead. She received an extremely generous donation to help the restaurant but is still not on the other side of this. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE DONATED and SHARED! We are so appreciative of the kindness.**

This campaign seeks to help our mom, Jenifer Miller, out of a temporary financial bump in the road so she can CONTINUE TO GROW her business which has become a staple in the Highland community and surrounding areas.
Without going into too much detail of her personal life and well being, and what has been thrown her way over the past almost two years, Jen has taken on the roll of single mom to her five children, has had to move from her home of over a decade, and has worked tirelessly to continue to build and grow her business where she first started in 2019 as a bartender and eventually worked her way to business Owner of what is now the beloved community staple, Highland Local.

Over the years, we have watched our mother give whatever she had to give to anyone she came across who needed any help without ever having to be asked.
She never questions the reason someone is in need, she just springs into action and always remains steady with the mindset of, “If I have it to give, I will give it.”

Jen, our mom, very rarely, if ever, asks for help.
She has been paying her staff and all of the expenses for the business from her personal account so everyone can keep their jobs and the restaurant can stay open. We are now calling on the local community who knows her and already supports her, to help assist her out of a financially stressful/ potentially crippling situation that could very well cause her to lose her licenses/Highland Local and everything she has worked so hard to achieve to be able to provide for her family while also getting the opportunity to serve her community.
We have all the confidence that with the help and support from those who know her, love her, and support her, that she will get out from under the less than ideal circumstances life has thrown her way recently, and that she will go on to thrive and be able to continue to provide a place for the local community to enjoy. A place where she gets the opportunity to continue to serve others- but she now needs the help and since she has never been great at asking, we are coming together to do so on her behalf.

We have always been taught not to throw anyone under the bus so we won’t delve too far into much personal detail about situations that have arisen/been thrust upon her which she has had to handle on her own even if they were ones out of her control.
In addition to these circumstances, a continued/repeated equipment failure/replacement, an extreme down turn of business, and other factors beyond her control with the restaurant and for her personally- these have been the most impactful to her present financial hardship.

Highland Local is not just a restaurant- it is her livelihood, how she supports her family, and a place she has helped shape into a home for the community to gather for celebrations, family dinners, and a place which has helped forge many new relationships and helped many people within the community at large.

On behalf of our family to our LOCAL family and community, please accept our deepest gratitude for your support and compassion for our mom Jen and the establishment she has helped to build and nurture in order to serve our family and the community.

Thank you.
