Help for Jen During Chemo

Donation protected

My sister, Jennifer, has been dealing with an extremely rare and agressive form of cancer since August 2013.  It's called adenosarcoma of the uterus and she was diagnosed at stage 3c. Upon diagnosis, she was 33.

Since her diagnosis, she has gone through numerous surgeries, including a complete hystorectomy, and other procedures.  She underwent 6 months of chemotherapy (2 types) in which her hair fell out, in addition to a myrad of other side effects. She then did months of radiation as well.

My sister is a special education teacher and loves her job. This was a difficult time for her not only due to the harsh treatments she went through, but also due to the fact that she was too weak and sick to work.

She completed her chemotherapy and radiation toward the end of last school year and was able to start working again. This made her extremely happy!

Now, it seems, that the cancer is back again and it has spread. Insetad of being localized, it's now near her spine, bladder, and in her lymph nodes. She's in constant and extreme pain and will be starting chemo again shortly.

Through all of this, I have seen a side of my sister that I had never seen before. I've learned that she's a fighter. She has never let this get her down. Through it all, she has been amazingly positive and a smile still graces her face.

The cancer and treatments have not just taken a toll on her body, but are a huge financial burden for her as well. She has not been able to work and has already used up most of her short term disability.

Today, she was admitted to the hospital because her kidneys are not fully functioning and needs dialysis and tests to be run to find the problem. Her left leg is completely swollen due to the cancer in her lymphatic system. Because of all of this, she's going to be out of work again. This is a huge financial blow for her.

I am starting this Go Fund Me page for my sister to help her financially during her chemo treatments and recovery. She, and I, would be so grateful for any help you can give to her during this difficult time. Just paying rent for her while on disability is difficult. If she runs out of disability days, it will be nearly impossible.

Please consider helping our family in our time of need. Thank you so much in advance for any amount you give!

And if you can't give financially, please keep my sister in your thoughts and prayers. It would mean a lot to us as well.
