Jenny's Journey

Donation protected
On the 25th of April 2017 my Mum (Jenny) was diagnosed with breast cancer. 49 years old with her partner Michael, with two girls, Emily 26 and Talliss 20. Mum is the most beautiful, caring, loving human being that would do something like this for anyone, would give anyone her love that needs it. She has had cysts for a very long time and felt that she had another one, but, it was growing. So like everyone should do when they feel something abnormal changing with their bodies, she went and got it checked and just from one scan she was told it was going to be something nasty. The following week I travelled with mum for over 4 hours to Adelaide for a full day of testing, biopsys, full body bone scans and MRI's. Now Janurary last year she had open heart surgery as she had an aortic valve replacement. Arriving by her bedside the day after her surgery as she was just waking up in ICU was the hardest thing to do, to see her and to think about what she just went through and thinking about what shes going to still have to get through. Seeing all them machines monitering her and all I could do was sit there and hold her hand when I wished I could take the pain from her. They say that having open heart surgery it takes a year to recover from, well she was back at work in half that time, but she is a healthy young woman and everyones healing times are different but she proved all doctors and everyone wrong. So, having gone through that I know how strong she is so I know shes going to do just fine. This isn't just for mum, this is for my Aunty Bella (mums sister), my nan (mums mother), nans sister (mums aunty) who has just passed after a long battle with breast cancer, for everyone who is diagnosed with breast and gynaecological cancers or has someone close to them like myself who is going through it. In the next few weeks or day mum will be having a full breast mastectomy and most likely chemo and radiotherapy. So I would appreciate everyones thoughts for my mother and everyone else that has cancer. I would also appreciate you to donate to my fundraiser, I have set my goal for $4,000, I would love to try and reach that goal and to even go over that goal but anything is best. All donations will be going straight towards covering the costs of various treatments, general medical and travel costs and to pay off scans shes already had done which has been over $500. Also towards the cancer council/pink ribbon. I know its a lot but with all the helping hands from friends, family and even strangers coming together to help another person out through a time of need, would mean the world to me and to my mum. Together we can make a difference and any donation big or small will warm my heart. I will be sure to update you on mums progress all the way, thank you so very much again.
I love you Mum xx
