I’ve grown impatient.... Life is short! For many years I have dreamt of creating an “artist’s environment”: a place where art and daily life are indivisible, to be shared with the public. I had something like this once in Norway.... But it was only the beginning. Today I need a house (and the house has now been found: a very old house from 1770, virtually untouched by time) to be the point of departure for my own (and other’s) artistic endeavors: collage, memory jugs, textile art, collecting, garden-making, and so forth. In addition, my quote-unquote Folk Art Museum will include a library for our visitors replete with splendiferous books upon the subjects of folk art, marginal art, and “outsider art”. The house is situated near Hudson, New York, in a charming village close to the train line and the Hudson River, just two hours north of N.Y.C., but far enough from the Big City to be truly transported into another world. Those who donate to this cause are offered free room and board at my Folk Art Museum bed and breakfast, among other offerings!!! (List forthcoming!) Yes: everyone needs a home; and indeed, most artists need a place wherein to create; but I intend to combine home and studio to be a place open to visitors, with whom I shall share my passion for all things crooked, hand-made, wabi-sabi, and marginal. Whomever donates to this project will be compensated, as previously mentioned, via room and board at my marvelous, wood-heated Folk Art Museum bed and breakfast!!! Thank you, dear ones!!! P.S.
