Jenny Shaver
Our wonderful friend, Jenny Shaver, is fighting Stage 4 Triple Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer. Jenny was first diagnosed on April 24, 2017. She went through Chemo until August 29, 2017. At the end of September, Jenny had a mastectomy and was off from work for four weeks. Immediately after she had a hysterectomy putting her off work for another 3 months. Jenny began radiation in November and finished up on January 8, 2018. What we thought was the end, was only the beginning.
Jenny went for a follow up appointment for blood work on August 14, 2018 and her markers were off. After further testing, it was determined that Jenny's Stage 4 Triple Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer had returned. The doctors began a strong dosage of chemotherapy in September. When Jenny went back for testing, it was discovered that the chemo didn't help at all. The cancer has spread to her liver, bones, ribs, lymph nodes, lumbar and spine. After our local hospital told her that there is nothing more that they can do here, she began going to Cleveland Clinic for a second opinion and further treatment. She is on the waiting list for a clinical trial. We will know more in 3 weeks if she is accepted.Right now, all treatment has been stopped until Cleveland Clinic can determine what clinical trials Jenny will be eligible for. At that time, Jenny will have to travel to Cleveland, which is 4 hours away, once a week and will also have to spend the night. This will require additional time off and more of a financial burden.
As you can tell, Jenny has been through so much already. She and her family members have had to miss work for treatments and surgeries. Jenny has been in an incredible amount of pain and sick from the treatments and cancer and has had to miss a lot of work recently. This is causing a financial hardship for Jenny and her family. Another worry that Jenny does not need. Please take a moment and consider donating. Any amount would be truly appreciated, not only by Jenny but her family and close friends as well.
Jenny is one of my best friends and has been since we were 14 years old. Since Jenny didn't have her banking info when I set this up, we used mine. We are writing a check when we receive each withdraw so Jenny can deposit into her account to use for medical and travel expenses and other financial needs. We can provide a list of this at any time.
Please keep Jenny and her family in your prayers. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
