Jenny "Jel Yamuna" Bruce, Bushfire recovery
Donation protected
Last week my dear friend and Aunty Jel Bruce watched as one of the many horrific, forest fires in Southern NSW ripped through her bush home of the last 40 years in the beautiful forest of the Upper Brogo. Fortunately she and her precious canine friend Frank got out to safety but like so many of her neighbours out there her beloved home was burnt completely to the ground leaving her with nothing but her car and the few bits she fled with.
Living a simple life off the grid and uninsured means that she truly is left with nothing to help rebuild her life. As a semi retired artist with mobility issues, and no other means of support but Centrelink, she has very limited access to resources and so it is with a heavy heart that I make a call out to all those who know and love our precious Jel “Yamuna” and to our extended community to help her to start rebuilding her life. One step at time from our hearts to hers.
With love and gratitude
