In August 2015, Jenny could have died from the gunshot wounds she sustained from her now ex-husband. Before he kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and tried to kill her, he sent a text, saying he couldn't bear to have the family apart. Soon, he could be up for parole. Jenny needs to protect her kids from the man who pleaded no contest to domestic assault in the presence of a child, from the man who she left in part because of how dangerous he had become to her kids.

Jenny, now a domestic violence survivor advocate who spends significant time involved with domestic violence outreach, needs financial assistance for mental health costs and retainer and long term legal fees that will help keep her abuser away from her children in the long term. As a single mom of traumatized kids, rebuilding her life has been difficult physically, emotionally, and financially. She is now fighting to get him permanently removed from her children's lives.
