Jenny Marcelli’s Fearless Breast Cancer Battle

Donation protected

Jennifer Marcelli is the kind of person we all need in our lives. My husband introduced us over 15 years ago and instantly I knew her and I would be friends for life. I am constantly in awe of this rock star of a woman… she is the type of gal who is kind, compassionate, honest, intelligent and hardworking. We have watched her manage a new house build, work to become a yoga instructor, live off grid for 8 years, commit to a rewarding career in not-for-profit work, and still prioritize her family and friends. Above all… watching Jenny be a mother to her 2 beautiful boys actually made me do a total 180 and become a mother myself.

Early on a Saturday morning in April, 2022 I got a message from Jenny asking if I was free to talk, instantly I knew this wasn’t going to be one of our typical gab sessions. Jenny was diagnosed with breast cancer on March 31, 2022 at only 42 years old. The initial biopsy indicated that her cancer was stage 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma and isolated to a single lump. Upon further testing and pathology Jenny discovered that the cancer was throughout her right breast, more advanced staging then originally indicated (2b), and had spread to the lymph nodes. Jenny underwent a double mastectomy in May and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. She has a very extensive treatment plan; upon completion of her chemotherapy she will likely begin radiation treatment and require 2 additional surgeries.

Jenny is fortunate to have a tight support system of close family and friends. As a single mother to two teenage boys she has done an amazing job trying to balance her treatment and it’s resulting side effects with a supportive and positive home life.

However, Jenny is fighting cancer full time and that means that she is unable to work, resulting in a major loss of income. On top of that she is also incurring a significant increase in monthly expenses through hospital travel/parking, medications, medical supplies and a multitude of supportive treatments and therapies.

We would be so grateful for any monetary help you can provide to relieve the financial burden on Jenny and her family. This will help her pay for monthly household expenses, medications, activities for the children and any post treatment/recovery needs. No amount is too small, and every donation will truly make a difference for Jenny and her family. If you are unable to donate, please share this fundraiser instead and follow Jenny’s journey on Instagram or Facebook.
