Jenny (Stella) Barrett (Prowse) Needs Your Help Urgently

Hello All,

I am Allie McKay, a good friend of our Stella/Jen.

She needs our help urgently as following the unexpected passing of Steve, she has now been taken into immigration detention with an eye to being removed from the UK.

Her immigration status was not regulated for some time and upon Steve's death, she lost the right to be here via being his spouse and was subsequently arrested and detained by immigration/Home Office.

To further complicate matters, Steve passed away without a will (intestate), and even worse, he passed away abroad - in Malta. His assets have been frozen leaving Stella/Jen absolutely destitute. Even worse, the Maltese Government has delayed extensively in issuing Steve's death certificate which is further complicating her ability to even open a probate (there are assets).

I have been in close touch with her and the first order of business is a bail application and then an application to stay based on the right to family life.

More than anything, we have to get her out of there as if you know her, you know that having spent a week in there so far is not doing her any good at all.

The goal is set for the quote given to us by the lawyers we have been in communication with. The bail application is £1,000 + VAT (20% tax) and the application to stay (without any complications) is £3,000 + VAT (20% tax). Go fund me takes a further percentage and stripe will also take a small percentage. This goal will ensure that the lawyer fees can be paid.

Please consider giving what you can at this time. I know it's a bit of a difficult time in general for folks, but I do hope that we can all band together to assist Stella/Jen on an urgent basis.
