On August 19th, our lives changed forever. My sister Jenny and my niece Lily were in a devastating car accident when another vehicle rear-ended them, pushing their car under an 18-wheeler.

By the grace of God, both survived. Lily is recovering from her injuries, but Jenny’s life has been turned upside down. She suffered severe spinal injuries that have left her paralyzed, and with additional bodily injuries. Jenny is now facing a long road of rehabilitation, strength, and courage.

While her spirit remains unshaken, her needs at home will be very different. To give her the best chance at independence and comfort, we need to make her home handicap-accessible. This includes installing wheelchair ramps, modifying bathrooms and doorways, and ensuring she has the medical equipment she needs once she leaves rehabilitation.

Jenny is the heart of our family — a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend who has always been there for others. Now she needs us.
