I'm Jenn. Some of you remember me as DJ Sin or Sinstress on Dementia Radio. I've recently been put on dialysis. CKD is real and it's scary. Unfortunately, while I'm grateful my insurance approved dialysis, they don't provide transportation. I cannot transfer to my car currently because I have an open pressure wound on my foot. This means rides in specific handicapped vans that can transfer my wheelchair. Each ride is $200 to and back. At 3-5 rides a week, it's becoming a struggle. Ideally, obtaining a van would be perfect, but the cost for even a used one runs $35k or more.
The state rep's office reached out to me to see if they could help and their answer was Medicaid, which I've been denied for. You need to make under $2900 a month with 2 adults and a teen.
My close friends have been nudging me to start a GoFundMe, so after 3 weeks of phone calls and getting nowhere, this is my final plea. I'm not expecting huge amounts, but every bit helps.
Please know I can't pay back, but will find a way to pay it forward.
I have several appointments coming up. Some are taken care of, but the majority is out of pocket.
With so much going on, I feel like I'm on a sinking ship. This means all the world to me and my family and if you truly know me, you know how hard this is to ask for help.
Ineed about 4 weeks of rides left. After I train for home dialasys, rides won't be needed.
