Jenn’s Journey to be a Mum

Donation protected
Our kindhearted, caring and nurturing friend Jenn wants nothing more than to be a mum. With the love and encouragement of her family and friends, she has been trying to make this dream come true for the past 2+ years. IVF is her next step but it comes with a big price tag on top of the $11000 she has already spent.  A single mom-to-be shouldn’t have to bear this alone. This is where we can come in to offer our support. Please consider donating to help her make this dream a reality.

BACKGROUND:
August 2018: referred to fertility clinic
-blood tests show a low AMH level (low ovarian reserve)
October 2018: HSG test #1 to see if my Fallopian tubes were open. The left side was,  but due to technician error they feared there was a fissure which could mean infertility. As did not know if the right was, I would need an MRI before going further
November 2018 MRI complete.  Results in early December.  No fissure. But notice a heart shaped uterus
January 2019.  Hysteroscopy   Diagnosis: bicornate uterus.  uterus was extremely concave (a natural deformation).  Recommended to see a surgeon as 85% chance of miscarriage.
February 2019.  Surgeon appointment. Four month wait for surgery.
-while waiting, hysteroscopy #2 and found both Fallopian tubes open
June 2019 surgery was a successful. Removed a couple of polyps and cut some tissue so uterus was less concave. Two months healing time before proceeding with insemination
-Plan was to do three IUIs non medicated  (intrauterine insemination) with donor sperm. Then three more (if necessary)  with medication
-IUI #1 Late August 2019 unsuccessful
-IUI #2 September  2019 unsuccessful
-IUI #3 November 2019 unsuccessful
January 2020 follow up appointment about three failed IUIs.  Told to take supplements and will try with fertility medication. (Clomid) and a different sperm donor
Feb.2021 iui #4 (medicated) unsuccessful
March 2020. Pandemic. Clinic shut down
June 2020 clinic re opens
July 2020. IUI #5 unsuccessful
August 2020 follow up. If we add more medication (injections) to IUI 20% chance of pregnancy. 30% of multiples
66% chance if choose IVF
Took a mental health break
October 2020 AFC ultrasound.  No cysts.  But not a lot of action.   Will need maximum dose of medication.
November 2020. Decide to do IVF  but need to lose 38 pounds
April 2021 ready for IVF. Appointment April 29
