A little about this fund:

Our dearest friend, Jenni was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

Before we get into her upcoming journey, we want bring awareness to her friends and family as to how it was found. Jenni went in for a routine mammogram in April using 3D imagery that didn’t detect anything. It was a few weeks later that she found it herself. Shortly after she went through the standard motions to rule it out using an ultra-sound and biopsy, unfortunately she and her wife, Meagan were given the diagnosis of Invasive Ductal Carcinoma on May 16th.

Over the last couple of months, she has been to several appointments to determine the next best course of action. On July 8th, she had a lumpectomy to remove the tumor along with three of her lymph nodes. The surgery itself went well and has been recovering and resting.

The three lymph nodes also came back as cancerous, and the tumor removal didn’t have clean margins and is attached in the nipple. After discussions with the surgeon, additional surgery could open up the risks of infection and will not change the outcome of what chemotherapy and radiation would do if the cancer ever spread.

With all she has already endured in two short months, she has a long road ahead of her. Starting July 23rd, she will receive weekly chemo treatments for 12 weeks followed by treatments every other week for 8 weeks. Once chemo is complete, she will undergo radiation with hormone suppression for several years afterwards.

Jenni is one of the most positive people we all have come to know and love and she remains positive throughout.
