Jennifer’s Journey

A mother who loves relentlessly, an equally loyal friend to a special few and a wife, a best-friend of over 20 years, Jennifer is the most beautiful woman, I have ever known. Her heart is made from pure gold. She epitomizes selflessness, putting everyone before herself and has always ensured others were happy before worrying about herself. She has always been an inspiration.

Jennifer went into the hospital in June of 2021 after a few weeks of not feeling right. She required a couple of blood transfusions and ultimately needed an immediate, emergency hysterectomy for what the on-call gynecologist assumed were 'fibroids'. The procedure was done lathroscopically, due to the size of the 'fibroids' the gynecologist elected to cut them into several pieces to get to pass. Later it was determined, the fibroid was a cancerous tumor and cutting it into several pieces helped facilitate her cancer spreading throughout her pelvic region. Jennifer was diagnosed with stage-4, terminal cancer in 2021. She has currently endured 7 rounds of various chemotherapies, immunotherapies and some treatments that have yet to be approved by the FDA for her type of cancer. She’s been sick in ways I wouldn’t wish on another soul, and she’s lost her hair, twice. Jennifer never stopped giving of herself, she’s still working her same full-time position and is determined to live life, her way. Unfortunately, her cancer has spread to her kidneys, liver, lungs and lymphatic system. Her prognosis is bleak, at best.

She’s the best mother, all of her children have a very close and individually unique bond with their mother. She is absolutely the love of my life, and will forever be.

She has received an abundance of love and prayers from folks we will likely never have the opportunity to look in the eye and earnestly thank from the bottom of our hearts.

I have to post this, as she would never ask and will work until she’s physically unable to. She’s more concerned about her family and how we are going to manage it. She has numerous copays and treatments that aren’t covered by insurance. Any help to cover any of those expenses to ease her stress would help our entire family in ways I could not describe properly.

Additionally, one of Jennifer’s goals is to take a special trip with each of her children. Our Daughter is as selfless as her mother and took her on their trip, we have three more to go and Jennifer is determined to make her adventures with each of her boys as special as her mom/daughter trip was.

The cost of doing everything possible to extend her time is something I’d pay every day for the rest of my life, I’m happy to have that opportunity. This leaves us living paycheck to paycheck and endlessly checking to see if we’ve met insurance deductibles. I am committed to doing everything in my power to ease her stress and her burden, she deserves better.

Any help is appreciated beyond words and will all go to help Jennifer with her medical expenses and to spend time with her children, in the most memorable and special of ways.
